BootCopy  Copy file during Windows boot time

Introduction

BootCopy is a Windows native program that will let you to smoothly perform a file copy while Windows is booting (the start up process).

Since the program is native the utility is provided with a setup program (BootCopySetup.exe) for quicky install and configure or remove the copy at boot time.

BootCopy requires at least Windows XP.

Using BootCopy

Before use the BootCopy you must install it using BootCopySetup. Once the program is installed it will start to make a copy of previously specified file from the next OS boot.

Command Line Options

BootCopy usage: BootCopy InputFile OutputFile

 

InputFile

Is the fully qualified file (including path) to copy.

 

OutputFile

Is the fully qualified file (including path) to create.

     

If there are embedding spaces in both InputFile or OutputFile you must delimit each full file name with double quotes. You can't run BootCopy it will start automatically.

Using BootCopySetup

Before use the BootCopy you must install it using BootCopySetup. Once the program is installed it will start to make a copy of previously specified file from the next OS boot.

Command Line Options

BootCopySetup usage: BootCopy [Action InputFile OutputFile] [/h | /?]

 

Action

Can be install or remove, depending on what you want to do.

 

InputFile

Is the fully qualified file (including path) to create.

 

OutputFile

Is the fully qualified file (including path) to create.

 

/h

Display this help.

 

/?

Display this help.

     

If you run BootCopySetup without any parameters the program starts in interactive mode showing a dialog window.

EXAMPLES:

 

BootCopySetup install c:\pagefile.sys c:\pagefile.sys.txt

Install the BootCopy program.

 

 

 

 

BootCopySetup remove

Unistall the BootCopy program.

     

Return Value

BootCopySetup always returns zero but it displays a message box window with a brief message that explaining the outcome.
